Verdict

The Corentium Home 2 keeps what made the original the default recommendation for a first radon monitor: it runs on batteries, needs no account, and shows both a short-term and a long-term average on its own display. The additions are Bluetooth for app graphs and a report, plus temperature and humidity sensors. It remains a radon-first instrument. If you want CO₂ or particles as well, the Wave Plus or View Plus are the Airthings models to consider.

How It Measures Radon

Radon diffuses into a chamber where the sensor counts alpha particles from radon decay. Because the count is statistical, the reading becomes more certain the longer the monitor runs. Airthings shows this honestly: the first days give a provisional value, and the long-term average settles over weeks. The display shows both so you can see a short-term spike (after closing the house up, for example) alongside the number that decides whether mitigation is needed. This is the same approach used by the original Corentium Home, which is reviewed separately.

App and Report

Bluetooth is the main change. The app graphs radon over time, which makes it far easier to see the daily and seasonal rhythm than reading numbers off a screen. The report function produces a summary of the monitoring period that a mitigation contractor can read. There is no Wi-Fi, so there are no remote alerts; if you want those, the View Radon is the Airthings model with Wi-Fi.
