AkerminMeasure. Monitor. Improve. Compare Products

Editorial Policy

The standards every Akermin page is held to.

These are the standards every Akermin page is held to before it is published and every time it is updated.

Accuracy

Technical claims are traced to a manufacturer document, standard, study or identified third party. If we cannot source a claim, we do not publish it. We use the manufacturer’s current documentation and note regional variants and revisions where they matter.

Honesty about evidence

We never describe hands-on testing that did not happen. Phrases such as “we tested”, “in our lab” or “during our testing” do not appear on this site unless the process is documented on the page.

Independence

Product selection is not influenced by affiliate commissions, manufacturer relationships or advertising. We do not accept free products in exchange for coverage.

Usefulness over volume

We publish one researched page at a time rather than filling categories with thin articles. A category with three good guides is more useful than one with thirty shallow ones.

Safety

Consumer instruments support investigation; they do not replace certified alarms, professional assessment or regulatory measurements. Every guide that touches on gas, electricity or structural moisture says so plainly.

Corrections

Errors are corrected as soon as they are confirmed. Material corrections are noted on the page.
