The TC001 Plus is the middle model in TOPDON’s plug-in thermal range. It keeps the 256×192 detector, TISR upscaling to 512×384, 25 Hz refresh and the wide measurement range of the family, and puts them on a USB-C connector so it works with recent Android phones, tablets and USB-C iPhones. The version most buyers will find on Amazon US is the TC001 (Android only) or the newer TC001 Max, which adds a visible-light lens; the Plus is not currently listed separately. If you have a USB-C phone and want a thermal-only camera without paying for the dual-lens Max, the Plus is the right specification to search for. If you need visible-light fusion for reports, buy the Max.

The 256×192 detector (49,152 pixels) is the reason the TC001 family is popular: it has more than twice the pixels of the 160×120 detectors in the FLIR ONE Pro and E5 Pro. The TC001 Max listing states a 25 Hz refresh rate, thermal sensitivity of 40 mK or better, a measurement range of -20 °C to 550 °C and accuracy of ±2 °C or ±2%. TOPDON documents the same detector class for the Plus. In practice that means a consumer unit or a PCB is readable at a working distance, and hot connections show up as clear points rather than a blur. App and Analysis
TOPDON’s app provides point, line and area measurement with up to three of each, live high, low and average temperature, a temperature-over-time graph, multiple palettes, image rotation and photo and video capture. The listings for the family describe a fusion mode that blends the thermal image with the phone camera; on the Max this uses the built-in visible lens, on the TC001 and Plus it uses the phone’s own camera, which requires alignment and is less convenient. Power and Portability
The whole family has no internal battery and draws about 0.35 W from the phone, with the listings quoting four to seven hours of use from a typical phone battery.
