Pair it with a moisture meter for the reading and, where required, a sample for a lab. The borescope is the confirmation step after a thermal camera or meter flags an area, not the measurement.

The rating covers the probe, not the handset or the phone. Then there is the limit of the tool itself: a borescope shows staining, wet-looking surfaces, water tracks and discoloration, but it does not measure moisture content and it cannot identify mold. The picture is evidence that sends you back to the moisture meter for a number, and where the report needs a mold finding, to a sample and a lab.
